Step 6: Initial Setup

Make the basic adjustments by following the on-
screen instructions in "Initial Setup."
Be careful not to disconnect the cables or exit the
"Initial Setup" function during this procedure.

Turn on the recorder and your TV. Then
switch the input selector on your TV so that
the signal from the recorder appears on
your TV screen.
The [LANGUAGE] display appears.

Select a language for the on-screen
displays using M/m, and press ENTER.

Check the antenna connection according to
the display, and press ENTER.

While [Start] is selected, press ENTER.
The Auto Channel Set starts.
To cancel the Auto Channel Set, select
[Cancel] and press ENTER.
To set the channels manually, see page 65.
When the Auto Channel Set finishes, the
[Clock Setting] display appears.

Press O RETURN or < according to the
display.

If you want to run "Initial Setup" again, select the
relevant setup items from the Setup menu (page 64).

Set the hour, minutes, day, month and

to start the clock.
You can also use the number buttons.
When the Initial Setup is completed, select
[Exit] and press ENTER.
