2.2 Forced disc formatting

Caution:
Executing this operation will delete all files on DVD-RAM disc: Copy the necessary files to PC, etc.
Formatting will be performed on one and then the other. To format one side only, check the recorded contents
(recorded side) before performing this operation.
Purpose:
To initialize without starting Disc Navigation.
Pertinent case:
When ordinary initialization is not possible because the data on DVD-RAM disc has been destroyed (excluding physical
damage to disc) and Disc Navigation does not start.
Operational procedure:
1) Turn the DVD video camera/recorder on, and then insert the disc to be initialized.
2) Hold down the following 3 buttons simultaneously for at least 3 seconds in the camera image status:
SELECT
REC
VOL. + (plus)
3) Follow the instructions on LCD screen thereafter.
4) To format the other side of disc, turn the disc over and start over from step 1). To end the operation, press the
stop/cancel button.
