When an AV Receiver and other devices support Control for HDMI, you can control them with the
Keypad via an HDMI connection.
When an AV Receiver supports Audio Return Channel (ARC), you must connect the TV and the
AV Receiver with an HDMI cable to enable the TV to send audio signals. You do not need an
optical digital cable. In this case, connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI IN 1 jack on the TV.
To control devices other than the AV Receiver, use the IR Blaster cable.
When you connect a Cable/Satellite Box with HDMI cables, IR Blaster cables are not required if
the Cable/Satellite Box is compatible with Control for HDMI.
