Tighten the four fasteners that hold the pump assembly to the engine evenly in an
alternating opposite corner pattern to prevent cocking of the pump assembly in
relation to the engine (see photo below). DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
Pull the recoil rope two or three times again, to ensure that the pump assembly
and engine are aligned. If the assembly is binding, or turns over hard, loosen the
fasteners, and repeat the previous two steps.
Reinstall the spark plug.
Set the pump assembly into the float (see photo below). But do not fasten the
engine to the float yet.
