Problem
• ISP is using static IP
addressing and iPAQ

dynamic IP addressing

V.90 dialing problems
Cabling
ISP is temporarily down
No power to external DSL or
cable modem
Proxy is enabled
Solution
Ensure that both your ISP and
your iPAQ Connection Point are
using the same type of IP
addressing.
• Ensure that a phone cable is
connected between the wall
jack and the lower RJ11 port
on the iPAQ Connection Point.
• Check your iPAQ Connection
Point dial-up configuration
page to verify the ISP access
phone number, and user
name and password are
correct.
Ensure all WAN cables are
properly connected.
Try to connect at a later time.
Make sure that the modem is
powered on.
Disable proxy on your iPAQ
Connection Point configuration
page.
