About Lime Scaling
Depending on how hard the water in your household is and how often the machine is
used, removing lime scale needs to be done on a regular basis (every 2-4 weeks)!
If heating up water takes longer to than usual, that can be a sign of lime scaling, too.
1)
Mix water together with some lime scale solvent according to the instructions
of that product. In case you cannot get such solvent, mix vinegar with water.
One part 20% vinegar goes with three parts water.
2) Pour the mixture in the water tank.
3) Follow the steps of „Making Coffee" without using coffee and with the filter
removed. Make this once or twice depending on the degree of lime scale.
4) Then repeat the procedure with clear water only. Repeat it quite a few times so
that no cleaning supply remains in the machine.
5) Rinse the cap, the filter holder and the jug in water.
Warning! Do not pour any lime scale solvent in the appliance without attenuating it
first, as it may damage the device! Only use lime scale solvents that are recommended
for coffee makers. Only use up to 20% vinegar.
