34. Keep all
nuts, bolts
and screws
tight
in
order
to
be sure that the tractor
and
mowing
attach-
ment are in safe working
condition. Be sure the
broke
and
mowing
attachment controls
are
always
in proper adjustment and repair.
Check
the
blade
and
engine mounting
bolts
at frequent
int~rvals
for
proper tightness. Before performing
any maintenance, always place
the
blade
con-
trol lever
in
the disengaged
position, set the
parking brake, shift into neutral,
shut off the
engine, make absolutely sure
the blades and
all
moving
pa rts
hove
completely
stopped,
remove the ignition key, disconnect the spark
plug wire from the spark plug(s)
and
keep it
away from the
plug(s) to
preven
t
inj ury
or oc-
c idental
starting
.

Keep
the
engine
free from
accumulations of
grass,
leaves
or excessive
grease as these
accumulations ore combustible
and could

introduction
suit
in

fire. Always
keep
your tractor and

protective

in place.
