Drying of protective paint.
Very poor chimney draught.
The combustible material is too wet -

Non-tight exhaust pipes.
Poor chimney draught.
Fast opening of the door.
Unsuitable and wet firewood. Air
deficiency inside the combustion
chamber.

TROUBLESHOOTING

During the first few days, make sure you
ventilate your space properly when turning
on the firebox.
Check the tightness of the chimney.
The firewood must have low humidity
content (see relevant table).
All exhaust pipe joints must be tight. Seal
the joints using foil tape if needed.
Have your chimney's draught checked.
Raise the chimney at the proper height
(refer to the relevant table).
You should open the firebox's door
smoothly and not all the way. Wait a few
seconds before you finish the opening.
Firewood must have the proper level of
humidity. Allow primary fresh air into the
combustion chamber using the adjustable
damper.
