    The DCS-1201 is a complete system with a built-in CPU and incorporates a web server, allowing it to transmit excellent real-time HD resolution video for security and outdoor surveillance. It incorporates Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing it to be easily installed in a variety of locations without the need for supplemental power cabling.

    Advanced Event Management The DCS-1201 can be set up to send e-mail notifications with snapshots when an event occurs, such as when motion is detected. Events can be triggered from several sources, such as motion detection and time based events.

    Connecting the Camera Connect the camera cable to the CAM port on the control box. You can power the DCS-1201 three different ways: through PoE, through the power terminal, or through a power adapter. Powering the camera through PoE (Class 2): Connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN(PoE) port on the control box.

    Insert the DCS-1201 CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive. Click Setup Wizard and follow the instructions to install the Setup Wizard. If the Autorun function on your computer is disabled, or if the D-Link Launcher fails to start automatically, click the Start button and type D:\autorun.exe (where D: represents the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive) and press Enter.

    Drill a hole 9 mm in diameter in the wall/ceiling, which should be no more than 5 mm thick. Peel off the adhesive backing on the flat mounting bracket and attach it to the inside of the wall/ceiling.     After completing the Camera Installation Wizard, you are ready to use your camera. The camera’s built-in Web configuration utility is designed to allow you to easily access and configure your DCS-1201. At the end of the wizard, click Link, or enter the IP address of your camera into a web browser, such as Firefox.
