8. Return the damper spring and the ratchet wheel. Fit the end of the damper spring
to the hole of the ratchet wheel. And then tighten them with the screw.
9. Place the starter rope onto the dented part of the reel.
10. Rotate the ratchet wheel clockwise five turns while keep the starter rope onto the
dented part.
11. Remove the starter rope from the dented part. Slowly rewind the rope by the spring force.
If the starter rope is not wound enough and the starter grip hangs too loose, pull
the starter rope, place the rope on the dented part, and make two more turns to
increase the tension of the rope.
12. To check the tension, while pulling the starter rope fully and holding it, turn the
ratchet wheel. Make sure that the ratchet wheel still can make half turn at that
state. If it does not turn, rope tension is too tight. In that case, remove the starter
grip from the rope, and then release and rewind the starter rope again.
NOTICE:
• The tool may be broken if the rope tension is too tight.
13. Fit the starter case in position and tighten it with screws.
Cleaning the inside of the sprocket cover
Remove the sprocket cover, the saw chain and guide bar.
Clean the inside of the sprocket cover with a brush.
NOTICE:
• Make sure there are no residues or foreign matter remaining in the oil guide groove,
chain tension pin, and brake band.

Cleaning the guide bar

Check the running surfaces of the bar regularly for damage. Clean it with using a
suitable tool.
