Open the tray
Press the eject button and slowly pull out the tray.

Installing the device
Insert the disc at an angle from the front edge label-side up.

Push down until the center holder clicks.
Removing the device
Place a finger on the center holder and lift up on the edge of the disc.

Close the tray
Close the tray without touching the eject button.
CAUTION
Do not apply excessive force to the tray in the open position, doing so
could damage the tray.
NOTE
<DVD-ROM drive>
A PC card is required to play DVD-Video or MPEG2 files.
Power-saving mode
If the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive has not been accessed within 30 seconds (in the case
of CD-ROM drive) or 120 seconds (in the case of DVD-ROM drive), the drive motor will
automatically shut down to reduce the power consumption. When the CD-ROM drive is
accessed once again, the power of the drive motor is turned on. However, approxi-
mately 30 seconds are required until data is actually read from the disc.
NOTE
If the vibration of the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive is excessive, set the [CD-ROM/
DVD-ROM Drive Speed] to [Low] in the Setup Utility.
When a CD-ROM or a DVD-ROM is being used, the Power Management Function
operates following the settings of the Setup Utility. It is possible to temporarily
disable the settings by pressing
Fn +
F8 .
