Appendix C Lightning Protection of Switches

C.1 Installation of Lightning Arrester for Power (Socket Strip
with Lightning Protection)
Caution:
Lightning arrester will not be shipped with the equipment. You should purchase it by yourself as needed.
When an AC power cord outdoor is led in to directly connect to the power socket on the
switch, the AC power socket should be connected to the socket strip (with lightning
protection) for preventing the switch from lightning strike. You can use cable clip and
screws to fasten the socket strip (with lightning protection) on the cabinet, workbench
or the wall of equipment room. After powering on, alternating current will pass through
the socket strip (with lightning protection) before entering the switch.
Normal operation indicator: If the green LED on,
it means that the circuit works normally. If not, it
means that the protection circuit has been damaged.

Indicator testing grounding and polarity:
If this red LED on, it means that the lines are incorrectly connected
(either the grounding wire is not connected, or the live and zero lines are connected in reverse direction).
Please check you power supply circuit.
