beep. Whenever you press that
numbered button, the station you set
will return and the equalization you
selected will also automatically be
selected for that station.
6. Repeat the steps for each
pushbutton.
Adjusting the Speakers
AUDIO: To adjust the balance between
the left and right speakers, push and
release the AUDIO knob until BAL
appears on the display. Turn the knob to
move the sound toward the right or left
speakers.
To adjust the fade between the front and
rear speakers, push and release the
AUDIO knob until FADE appears on the
display. To adjust the balance and fade
to the middle position, push the AUDIO
knob, then push it again and hold it until
you hear one beep. To adjust all tone
and speaker controls to the middle
position, push and hold the AUDIO knob
when no tone or speaker control is
displayed. The radio will produce one
beep and display ALL with the level
display in the middle position.
Playing a Cassette Tape or CD
Use the following controls to play a cas-
sette tape or CD.
PREV (Previous): Press this pushbutton
to go to the previous selection or track
when the current selection is playing.
NEXT: Press this pushbutton to go to
the next selection or track. If you hold
this button down, the player will move
forward through the selections or tracks.
REV (Reverse): Press this pushbutton to
reverse through the tape or track quickly.
FWD (Forward): Press this pushbutton
to advance quickly within a selection or
track.
SIDE (Cassette player only): Press this
pushbutton to play the other side of the
tape.
RDM (Random) (CD player only): Press
this pushbutton to hear tracks in ran-
dom, rather than sequential, order.
<<SEEK>>: Press the left or right arrow
to move backward or forward through
the tape or track.
DISP (Display) (CD player only): Press
this knob to see how long the current
track has been playing.
BAND: Press this button to listen to the
radio when a tape or CD is playing.
TAPE AUX (Auxiliary) (Cassette player
only): Press this button to play a cas-
sette tape when listening to the radio.
CD AUX (Auxiliary) (CD player only):
Press this button to play a CD when lis-
tening to the radio.
EJT (Eject): Press this button to
eject a tape or CD.

Radio Data System (RDS)

Your audio system is equipped with a
Radio Data System. RDS features are
available for use only on FM stations
that broadcast RDS information. RDS
relies on receiving specific information
from these stations and will only work
when the information is available.
With RDS, the radio can:
• Seek to stations broadcasting the
type of programming you select
• Receive announcements concerning
local and national emergencies
• Display messages from radio
stations, and
• Seek stations with traffic
announcements
