    VORWORT Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Erwerb des Staufenbiel AQUILA. Der AQUILA ist Voll-GFK-Hochleistungs-Modell, welches in Schalenbauweise hergestellt wurde. Dieser Segler ist ein echter Allrounder. Ob Thermikschnüffeln in der Ebene, Hotliner-mäßige Steig- flüge mit anschließend rasanten Abstiegen oder am Hang die Kante polieren. Alles macht der AQUI- LA bravourös mit.
  • Page 5 Schneiden Sie sich ein etwa 45 mm langes Stück 6 mm Schrumpfschlauch zurecht. Der vorbereitete Draht wird mit dem Schrumpfschlauch an das CFK-Rohr geschrumpf. An- schließend wird etwas dünn- flüssiger Sekundenkleber in den Kanal zwischen Gestänge und Draht unter den Schrumpf- schlauch gegeben.
  • Page 6 Zeichnen Sie sich eine Mar- kierung zur Erweiterung der Öffnung in der Tragflächenauf- lage. Erweitern Sie die Öffnung mit einem Dremel o.Ä. Werkzeug. Kleben Sie das Servobrett mit Pattex Stabilit oder UHU Endfest 300 etwa mittig unter Tragfläche in den Rumpf ein und Schrauben Sie die Servos in das Brett.
  • Page 7 In die Unterseite jeweils eine Einschlagmutter eindrücken und mit etwas Sekundenkleber fixieren. Anschließend mit Pattex Sta- bilit oder Endfest einkleben. Der Vorteil dieser Bauweise ist auf diesem Bild ersichtlich. Der Regler kann unter dem Brett verlegt werden. Das Akkubrett kann nun kom- fortabel eingeschraubt und bei Bedarf wieder entfernt werden.

    DIE TRAGFLÄCHEN Fräsen Sie für das Wölbklap- pengestänge eine Öffnung in der Breite des Gabelkopfes in die Fläche. Erstellen Sie au- ßerdem eine Ausfräsung für das Ruderhörn. Kleben Sie das Ruderhorn mit ausreichend Stabilit oder Endfest etwa im 45° Winkel zur Oberfläche in die Klappe ein.
  • Page 9 Kleben Sie einen Servorahmen mit Sekundenkleber in den Schacht. Schrauben Sie das Servo in den Rahmen und hängen Sie das Gestänge ein. Das Servo- horn kann noch gekürzt wer- den. Es ist dann möglich eine Abdeckung ohne Auswölbung zu verwenden. Für die Querruder das Ruder- horn in das bereits eingeharzte Gewinde einschrauben.
  • Page 10 Das Servo in den Rahmen schrauben. Das Gestänge montieren und die Gabelköpfe und Kontermut- tern mit etwas Schraubensi- cherung versehen. Die Muttern mit einer Zange leicht anzie- hen. Die Servokabel verlängern aber noch nicht durch die Fläche ziehen. Alle 5-10 cm ein kleines Stück Schaumstoff bereitlegen.

    Unten: 4 mm Oben: 3 mm Genießen Sie nun den Erstflug mit Ihrem neuen AQUILA. Mit den Angaben aus dieser Anleitung hält das Modell keine bösen Überraschungen parat. Die Wölbklappen können für besonders hohe Wendigkeit zu den Querrudern zugemischt werden. Wir empfehlen etwa 50% Zumischung.

  • Page 16 PREFACE Congratulations to your new AQUILA by Staufenbiel The AQUILA is a full-composite high-performance model which was manufactured in shell construc- tion. This sailplane is a real allrounder . The construction of the model and the detailed solutions related subject to a certain taste depen- dency.
  • Page 17 Cut a 45mm lenght 6mm dia heatshrinking tube. Use the heatshrinking tube to attach the pushrod on the carbon rod. Apply some thin CA glue in the gap between pushrod ans carbon rod. Fit the pushrods from the rud- der side into the fuselage and connect it to the control horn.
  • Page 18 Draw a mark for increasing the opening in the wing mount. Create the opening with a rota- ry tool. Glue the servotray with Pattex Stabilitor UHU Endfest 300 (if not available use 15 min ex- poxy) near to the center of the wing in the opening and install the servos.
  • Page 19 Attach in the back of the ridge a drive in nut and glue it with CA Glue. Glue the ridges with Pattex Stabilit or Uhu Enfest. (If not available use 15 min Epoxy) With this kind of installation the ESC will be be installed under the tray.
  • Page 20 THE WINGS Cut an opening for the clevis of the flaps in the wing. Prepare the hole for the control horn within this step. Glue the controll horn in an 45° angle to the surface of the flap. Use sandpaper to lightly sand the surface were the servos will be installed.
  • Page 21 Glue the servotray with CA glue in the opening. Secure the servo in the mount using the screws provided with the servo. Connect the clevis. Cut the servo horn that you can use a flat cover. Screw the aileron control horn in the existing thread.
  • Page 22 Secure the servo in the mount using the screws provided with the servo. Assemble the pushrods with clevis and nuts. Tighten the nuts with pliers and secure it with thread lock. Extend the the servocable. Prepare a small piece of foam every 5- 10 cm.
