The HOME & MODES views II
The name of the currently active aplet is displayed at the top of
the HOME view as a reminder of which one is active
(see
for more information on aplets).
The APLET view
The reason for this is that the MODES settings are linked to the aplet. Therefore,
changing aplets may result in your MODES settings changing with it.
Although this may seem strange there is a good reason for it. Suppose we are working
in the Solve aplet and change the angle settings from Radians to Degrees. If we later
change from the Solve aplet to the Parametric aplet then the settings for the
Parametric aplet will be unaffected by any changes we made while in the Solve aplet.
Also, changing back to the Solve aplet later will restore the Degrees choice regardless
of what was done elsewhere.
Conversely, HOME always mirrors the settings of the current aplet so that any
calculations done in the HOME view match those done in the aplet. For example, if
you were to find a root for a trig function F1(X) in the PLOT view then typing F1(Root)
in the HOME view would not give zero if the angle modes did not match.
