Wipethe glasscooktopcleanafter
each use. Use an all-purpose,non-
abrasivecleaner.Do not use a dish
towelor spongeto wipeup the
cooktop.They may leavea film of
detergentwhichcan discoloryour
cooktopwhenheated.If ttis
happens,removethe film with the
recommendedcleaner.We
recommendthat you use paper
towelsor a cleanclothwhichis
used onlyfor cleaningthe cooktop.
Meltedmaterialscan cause
permanentdamageto the cooktop.
If you accidefitally melt anything
onto the cooktop,or boilover
food~with high sugarcontent,
removeit immediatelybeforethe
cooktopcoolswith severaldry
papertowels.Scrapeoff remainder
of burnedmaterialwith a razor
scraperheld carefullywith a pot
holder;don'tuse a wet spongeor
cloth becaLlse t hese can cause
stea~n burns.

@ Removeexcesssoilwith a razor
scraper.Hold the scraperat about
30° mgle to the cooktopand
scrapeoff the soil.
@ Scrub the glass cooktopwith an
all-purpose,~~on-abrasive cleaner,
such as Bon Arni@ brand,or with a
cooktopcleaningcreme.Rinse
well and wipedry. Cooktop
cleaningcremeis availableat your
GE Applianceand Parts Stores.

control Knobs
The controlknobsmay be
removedfor cleaninR.-
To remove l~nob, p ull it straight
off the stem.If knobis difficultto
remove,placea thin cloth (likea
handkerchie~or a pieceof string
underand aroundthe knob edge
and pull up.
Washbobs in soapand water but
do not soak.Avoidgettingwater
down into the knobstemholes.

To replace knob, locatedthe
groovein each sideof the knob
stem.One of the groovescontain
a springclip and the othergroove
is clear.Locatethe moldedrib
insidethe knob.Fit the molded
rib into the clear grooveon the
kob stem.
