    1. Introduction Thank you for purchasing the iSimple Media Gateway. The Media ® Gateway is designed to provide endless hours of listening pleasure from your factory radio. To ensure that your iPod performs correctly with your radio, we recommend that you read this entire manual before attempting installation of the Media Gateway.

    2. Carefully remove the radio from the dash of the vehicle. We recommend the use of iSimple Part # GET (when applicable) to remove ® to remove Volkswagen radios. This will provide access to the factory radio connectors where you will connect the Media Gateway harness.
  • Page 6 Connect the gray end of this cable into the Satellite Radio tuner. 7. Plug the male connector on the PGHVW1 harness into the port on the back of the radio. Next, connect the factory harness into the female PGHVW1 harness into the PXAMG Media Gateway box.

    9. With all connections made, reconnect the vehicle’s battery, insert the key into the ignition, and turn the vehicle on. Check for proper operation of the Media Gateway and HD Radio tuner or Satellite Radio tuner before reinstalling the factory dash panels. “CODE”...
  • Page 8 Panasonic Radio Controls Next Track Turn the Tune knob Clockwise to skip to the next track. Previous Track Turn the Tune knob Counter-clockwise to go back to the previous track. Enter Browse menu / make a selection Press the TUNE KNOB to enter the browse menu or make a selection while in the browse menu.
  • Page 9 Browse by Artist Press the TUNE KNOB to enter the browse menu. ”PL:LIST” will appear on your display. “AR:ARTIST” is displayed. Press the TUNE KNOB to select browse by Artist. The list of Artists on your Pod will be displayed one at a time in alphabetical order.

    7. HD Radio Operation (if equipped) Entering Mode Select Menu through the Media Gateway sources until HD-FM or HD-AM is displayed. Wait 6 seconds and the radio will select the displayed option. PLEASE NOTE: If you are listening to Satellite Radio and wish to switch the Media Gateway source, you must press the TUNE KNOB twice before pressing the button.
  • Page 13 Steering Wheel Controls The Multifunction display in the gauge cluster must be in “Audio mode” for the steering wheel controls to operate the Media Gateway. Storing stations into preset memory Press “OK” access the preset memory menu. Press “OK” to store the current station into the location displayed on the radio, for example PRE1.

    8.Sirius Satellite Radio Operation (if equipped) Entering Mode Select Menu through the Media Gateway sources until SIRIUS is displayed. Wait 6 seconds and the radio will select the displayed option. PLEASE NOTE: If you are listening to Satellite Radio and wish to switch the Media Gateway source, you must press the TUNE KNOB twice before pressing the button.
