Option
Description
Select the correct Encapsulation type that your ISP supports. For
Encapsulation
example, RFC 1483.
Select the correct Multiplexing type that your ISP supports. For
Multiplexing
example, LLC.
VPI & VCI
Specify a VPI (Virtual Path Identifier) and a VCI (Virtual Channel
number
Identifier) given to you by your ISP.
Set to Dynamic if the ISP provides the IP for the P-661HW-D
IP Address
dynamically. Otherwise, set to Static and enter the IP in the IP
Assignment
Address field.
(2) Configure a LAN IP for the P-661HW-D and the DHCP settings in Web
Configurator, Advanced Setup, Network -> LAN.

3. Setup the P-661HW-D as a DHCP Relay

• What is DHCP Relay?
DHCP stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. In addition to the
DHCP server feature, the P-661HW-D supports the DHCP relay function.
When it is configured as DHCP server, it assigns the IP addresses to the LAN
clients. When it is configured as DHCP relay, it is responsible for forwarding
the requests and responses negotiating between the DHCP clients and the
server. See figure 1.
• Setup the P-661HW-D as a DHCP Relay
We could set the P-661HW-D as a DHCP Relay by the following command in
CLI:
Ip dhcp enif0 mode
Ip dhcp enif0 relay server
