5. 1 Error detection by self-diagnostics

The self-diagnostics function detects troubles in important areas of the ADF. When
any trouble occurs, the machine is stopped. The error indication appears in the
"message" display of the copier and the "Wait" indicator on the copier turns ON.
(1) User error

a. ADF is not closed
securely.
b. ADF door is not closed
securely.
Note : When the original is
placed in the original
feed tray, the user error
is detected.
Cause / Check
1. The ADF is not installed correctly.
2. The ADF is open.
3. Connector of ADF driver P.C.B. is
broken.
4. ADF open/close detection sensor is
defective.
5. ADF door is open.
6. Original feed cover open/close
detection sensor is defective.
7. ADF driver P.C.B. is defective.
8. ADF open/close sensor harness is
broken.
9. ADF original feed cover open/close
sensor harness is broken.
