    Section II Operation 2.1 Normal feeding (copy) • Original feeding begins with the last page. (1) When the start button is pressed, the paper feed motor and pick-up solenoid are energized. The pick-up roller moves down towards the stack of originals and transports the original on the top of the stack to the paper feed roller.
  • Page 6 (3) The paper feed motor and pick-up solenoid are energized again. The pick-up roller moves down towards the stack of originals and the next original is fed. The paper exit rollers rotate to discharge the original. During paper discharge the deceleration clutch is released to ensure that the paper is neatly stacked in the exit tray.

    Section V Troubleshooting 5. 1 Error detection by self-diagnostics The self-diagnostics function detects troubles in important areas of the ADF. When any trouble occurs, the machine is stopped.     Section VI Installation 6.1 Installation requirements The ADF can be affected by ambient conditions. The following conditions should be carefully checked for normal operation of the ADF. 1.ADF Should not be installed where the following conditions exist. (1) Extremely high or low temperature and high humidity. (2) Areas where temperature and humidity can change rapidly.

    6.3 Installation procedure Remove all shipping materials/tape before installation. Caution : Make sure the copier is unplugged before the installation. Location Shipping material/Procedure Check Install the hinge positioning screws onto upper rear cover of the copier. (2 shoulder screws) Note: The hinge positioning screw for the paper feed side should uti- lize the outermost hole.

    6.4 Adjustment Location Procedure Check Height adjustment (1) Remove the ADF handle cover. (4 screws) (2) Loosen the magnet mounting screws. (left) (2 screws) (3) Close the ADF fully. (4) Press down on the front side of the ADF firmly and adjust the magnet until it contacts the magnet catch plate, then tighten the magnet mounting screws.
