FLEXTEC™ 500 P
OPERATION
The Flextec™ 500 P welding modes utilize the UltimArc
TM
Arc Control
Feature for adjusting the focus or shape of the arc. UltimArc
TM
Control
is adjustable from -10.0 to +10.0 with a nominal setting of 0.0.
(See Figure C.3) Increasing the UltimArc
TM
Control increases the pulse
frequency and background current while decreasing the peak current.
This results in a tight, stiff arc used for high speed sheet metal
welding. Decreasing the UltimArc
TM
Control decreases the pulse
frequency and background current while increasing the peak current.
This results in a soft arc good for out of position welding.
The UltimArc
TM
Arc Control can be accessed through the ArcLink
compatible wire feeder user interface.
