Remove t he framecoverfrom the underside of the snowthrowerby
removing fourself-tappingscrews whichsecure it. SeeFigure 30.

Remove t he belt from around the augerpulley,andslipthe belt betweenthe
supportbracket a ndtheaugerpulley.SeeFigure 32.
NOTE: Engaging t he augercontrol w ill easeremoval a ndreinstallation of the
belt.

Reassemble
auger b eltbyfollowing instructions in reverse order.
NOTE: DoNOT f orget t oreinstall theshoulder screw and reconnect thespring
totheframe after installing areplacement

NOTE: Several components m ustberemoved andspecial t oolsarerequired in order
to replace the snowthrower'sdrivebelt. Contact t he nearest S ears Parts & Repair
Center t o have the drivebelt replaced.
FrictionWheel inspection
If the snowthrowerfailsto drivewith the drivecontrolengaged, andperforming
the Drive ControlCable Adjustment f ailsto correct t he problem, t he frictionwheel
mayneedto bereplaced. E xamine the frictionwheelrubberforsignsof wearor
cracking andreplace wheelifnecessary.
NOTE: Several components m ustberemoved andspecial t oolsarerequired in order
to replace thissnowthrower'sfrictionwheel.Ifyourfrictionwheelneeds to be
replaced, c ontact t he nearest S ears Parts & Repair C enter.
Toinspect t he friction wheel,proceed asfollows:
1.
Allowthe engineto rununtil it isout of fuel. Donot attemptto pourfuel
fromthe engine.
2.
Carefully pivotthe snowthrowerupandforwardsothat it restson theauger
housing.
3.
Remove t he framecoverfrom the underside of the snowthrowerby
removing fourself-tappingscrews whichsecure it. Refer t o Figure 30.
4.
Examine the frictionwheelforsigns of wearor cracking.
