CAUTION:
Heatsink retaining screws should be tightened or loosened in diagonally opposite
pairs (in an "X" pattern). Do not overtighten the screws as this can damage the board, connectors,
or screws. Use the wrench supplied with the system to reduce the possibility of overtightening the
screws.
Install the heatsink:

Position the heatsink on the processor backplate.
a.
Tighten one pair of diagonally opposite screws halfway, and then tighten the other pair of screws.
b.
Finish the installation by completely tightening the screws in the same sequence.
c.
CAUTION:
When returning a damaged system board to HP, always install all processor socket
covers to prevent damage to the processor sockets and system board.
Install the DIMMs.

Connect all cables disconnected from the failed system board.
10.
Install the front fan cage.
11.
Install the PCI riser cage.
12.
Connect all necessary internal cabling to the expansion board. For more information on these cabling

requirements, see the documentation that ships with the option.
Install the air baffle.
14.
Install the access panel.
15.
Do one of the following:

Slide the server into the rack.
a.
Install the server into the rack.
b.
Connect the power cord to the server.
17.
Connect the power cord to the power source.
18.
Press the Power On/Standby button.
19.
The server exits standby mode and applies full power to the system. The system power LED changes
from amber to green.
