PROGRAMS

The Muscle Stimulator provides six (6) muscle stimulation programs.
Four (4) of the programs are used for muscle strengthening and two (2) are for
warming up and recovering muscles after exercise.
All programs can be used on large muscle groups (arms, legs, back,
shoulders). We recommend using the Resistance program for your abdominal
muscles. If you would like to use the muscle stimulator on body parts other
than the abdominals you will need to order the Sport and Spa gel pads and
long lead-wires.
These training programs correspond to the type of muscle performance that
you wish to improve or maintain.

Special Programs
• Resistance
• Potentiation
• Strength
• Active Recovery
• Explosive Strength
• Endurance
Resistance - The stimulation sequences in this program are intended to
increase the time a muscle is able to maintain high power work over short
time periods. This is the factory default program. This program has 5 levels.
Strength - This program imposes high power on muscle fibers and is
intendedtodevelopmaximumcontractileforceinamuscle.Theprogramtargets
fast-twitch muscle fibers. This program has 5 levels.
Explosive Strength - This program is designed to increase maximal muscle
force and speed at which this maximal force is achieved. The program targets
very fast-twitch muscle fibers. This program has 5 levels.
Endurance - The activity (contraction) pattern imposed on muscles during
this program resembles the activity of voluntary endurance exercises. The
program targets very slow-twitch muscle fibers. This program has 5 levels.
Potentiation- This program prepares muscles to work faster and easier at the
very beginning of training or effort.
Active Recovery- This program permits muscles to recover back to their
normal performance levels after heavy workloads. This program has 5 levels.

PROGRESSION THROUGH THE LEVELS
In general, we don't recommend that you go through the different program
levels quickly with the intention of getting to level 5 as soon as you can. The
levels represent progress in training and you should provide time for your
muscles to adapt.
You should aim to progress through the stimulation intensity (0-99) and then
through the levels (1-5) or use each level for 4-6 weeks before advancing to
the next level
