a. Check in the message area port view that the message "ALS current state inactive"

From EML-USM, select the board and click twice.
a. Select the port.
b. Select the module.
c. Select the SPI block.
d. Select "port" -> "physical media" -> "ALS Management"
e. Set ALS function - ALS Enabled, and click on Apply.
