Connecting Power (if required)
If the host does not provide power to the digital imager scanner, connect an external power supply:
Connect the interface cable to the bottom of the digital imager scanner, as described in Installing the Interface

Cable on page 1-3.
Connect the other end of the interface cable to the host (refer to the host manual to locate the correct port).

Plug the power supply into the power jack on the interface cable. Plug the other end of the power supply into

an AC outlet.

Model with Base

Installing the Interface Cable
Turn both angle adjustment knobs left to loosen the scanner in the base. See
1.
Move the scanner forward until there is full access to the cable interface port on the bottom of the scanner.

Adjust the Scanner for Cable Installation

Insert the interface cable through the opening at the back of the base.

NOTE Ensure the cable is inserted through the opening at the back and not underneath the base.
Plug the interface cable modular connector into the cable interface port on the bottom of the scanner handle.
4.
Gently tug the cable to ensure the connector is properly secured.
5.
Move the scanner to preferred angle and turn the angle adjustment knobs right to tighten.
6.
Connect the other end of the interface cable to the host (refer to the host manual to locate the correct port).
7.
NOTE Different hosts require different cables. The connectors illustrated in each host chapter are examples only.
Connectors vary from those illustrated, but the steps to connect the digital imager scanner are the same.
