Global Address Search
1. Overview of global address search
LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is used to access an Internet or intranet directory database to
search for an e-mail address. The desired e-mail address is selected from the search results and an e-mail can
be sent to that address.
To use this function, the IP address (or network name) of the LDAP server must be set, as well as an account
name and password. These settings are configured by accessing the Web server in the machine from a computer.
2. Global address search settings
2-1. After accessing the Web server in the machine, follow the steps below to open the "LDAP Setup"
page and configure the required settings.
• To access the Web server, see page 2-6 of the "Operation manual (for printer operation and general
information)".
2-2. Click "Network Settings" under "Setup" in the menu frame on the left side of the Web page. The
"Network Settings" page will appear.
• Click "LDAP" to open the "LDAP Setup" page.
2-3. Configure the settings.
• For explanations of each of the settings, click "Help" in the menu frame.
2-4. Click "Submit".
• Be sure to click "Submit" to save your settings after configuring them.
