If the meter does not display a message after inserting a test strip:
PROBABLE CAUSE
a. Batteries exhausted.
b. Batteries incorrectly
installed or absent.
c. Test strip inserted upside
down or incompletely.
d. Defective Meter.
If the test does not start after applying the sample:
PROBABLE CAUSE
a. Insufficient blood sample.
b. Defective test strip.
c. Sample applied after automatic
shutoff (two minutes after last
user action).
d. Defective Meter.

Replace the batteries.
Check that the batteries are correctly
installed with the positive "+" side up.

contact bars end first and facing up.
