REAR BRAKE
7.Remove:
Spring 1
G
Brake camshaft lever 2
G
Brake shoe wear indicator 3
G
Brake camshaft 4
G

CHECKING THE REAR BRAKE

1.Check:
Brake drum 1
G
Cracks/damage → Replace.
Splines (wheel drum) 2
G
Wear/damage → Replace.
2.Check:
Brake shoe plate 1
G
Pivot pin 2
G
Brake camshaft 3
G
Bends/cracks/damage → Replace.
Dust seal 4
G
Wear/damage → Replace.
3.Check:
Brake shoes 1
G
Brake shoe springs 2
G
Cracks/damage → Replace as a set.
NOTE:
When replacing the brake shoes, replace the
brake shoe springs at the same time.
4.Check:
Brake shoe lining
G
Glazed areas → Repair.
Sand the glazed areas with coarse sandpa-
per.
NOTE:
After sanding the glazed areas, clean the
brake shoe with a cloth.
