The DHCP server can assign to the telephone a Ter-
minal IP Address, a Terminal Mask, a Default Route,
a SNTP IP Address, and a Timezone Offset.
The telephone is shipped in the default 'Server'
mode, and you are required to enter a SIP server IP
address for the telephone to register with the SIP
server.
The registrar must also be set to Server routed
mode. Both the server and the registrar can be set
using an IP address or a name. If a name is used
then DNS will be used to resolve the address.
It is also possible to dial by number when the tele-
phone is Gateway routed. In this mode the phone is
not registered but will forward and address entered
numbers directly to the Gateway.
Example: if the Gateway IP address is
192.123.230.1 and the number 3452341 is dialed,
the following address will be forwarded to the Gate-
way: 3452341@192.123.230.1. The Gateway re-
solves and routes the number.
Without proper registration or when not Gateway
routed, the telephone can only dial IP addresses.
You are also required to enter the telephone number
of the telephone.
