5.2 Unit Repair and Replacement

This section contains flowcharts which let you isolate faulty units by following the flowchart for the
problem. Refer to Table 5-3 to determine the flowchart to follow.
Problem
The printer does not operate at
all.
The printer indicates an error
after turning on the printer.
Self-test does not print
properly.
Paper is fed abnormally.
The control panel does not
operate properly.
The printer does not operate
properly.

The LEDs and LCD on the control panel
indicate nothing.

Printer mechanism is not initialized.

1 or more LEDs go on or blink and a
message appears on the LCD.

After the printer mechanism is initialized, an

Low print quality

Monochrome print and color print switch
improperly.

The printer does not feed paper.

Paper feed length is irregular.
