ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
PHOTOEYE
The photoeye is positioned to view the flame from the top
of the auger feed tube. It is located below the auger
cover and can be accessed from inside the hopper for

Clean Filter Lens:
1. With the photoeye cover plate removed, look inside
the opening. You will see an amber colored square
glass filter secured in place by a bracket and 2 nuts
(it is on the left when viewed while facing the front of
the stove). Using a 11/32" nut driver, remove the 2
nuts and lift off the bracket. Using your finger slide fil-
ter up and out.
2. Wipe away any dust or debris from filter, then rein-
stall filter, filter bracket and cover plate with photo-
eye.
IMPORTANT: When reinstalling photoeye and cover,
be careful not to bend bracket or damage wires. Pay
special attention in positioning wires away from pho-
toeye (which could obstruct it from sensing light).

EXHAUST PASSAGES AND VENT PIPE
Inspect frequently and clean when necessary. Fly ash
will accumulate at all bends in the exhaust system.
Note: Large amounts of fly ash build-up will create a lack
of combustion air. Removing the Tee cap on vertical in-
stallations will allow an inspection of the ash build-up in
the exhaust Tee and will help you to decide how fre-
quently more extensive cleaning must be performed.
