Shooting in the Scene Mode

Panorama assist
Use when shooting a series of pictures that will later be joined to form a single panorama
using the supplied Panorama Maker software.
• The camera focuses on the subject in the center of the frame.

Shooting Pictures for a Panorama
The camera focuses on the subject in the center of the frame. Use a tripod for best
results. Set
Vibration reduction
(~167) to Off when using a tripod to stabilize the
camera during shooting.

Use the multi selector to choose

Panorama assist
in the scene menu and
press the

button (~41).
• The panorama direction icon

is displayed to show
the direction in which pictures will be joined.

Use the multi selector to choose the direction
and press the

button.
• Select how pictures will be joined together in the
completed panorama; right

left (]), up

• Yellow direction icons

appear for the selected
direction. When you press the

button, the selected
direction is set, and a white direction icon

appears for that direction .
• Apply flash mode (~32), self-timer (~35), focus mode (~37) and exposure
compensation (~40) settings with this step, if necessary.
• Press the

button to reselect the direction.
