Cleaning the glass
scanning areas

The scanner is designed to be maintenance free. However, it must be cleaned
occasionally to ensure optimum image quality and performance.
1. Moisten a lint-free cloth with isopropyl alcohol (95%).
WARNING: Isopropyl alcohol is a flammable liquid.
CAUTION: Do not use isopropyl alcohol around open flame or on hot surfaces.
Avoid vigorous rubbing; use gentle contact.
Isopropyl alcohol may cause eye irritation and dry skin.
For additional information, contact your isopropyl alcohol supplier.
2. Open the ADF and document cover.
3. Wipe the platen glass and ADF area glass side to side with the cloth.
4. Close the ADF and document cover.
The scanner is now ready for use.
