Connecting Using Scanner Emulation

To perform Scanner Emulation, connect the scanner to a mobile computer, or a controller which
collects the data and interprets it for the host.
Interface cables vary depending on configuration. The connectors illustrated
in Figure 10-1
illustrated, but the steps to connect the scanner remain the same.
1. Attach the modular connector of the Scanner Emulation interface cable to the cable
interface port on the scanner. (See
2. Connect the other end of the Scanner Emulation interface cable to the scanner port on the
mobile computer or controller.
3. Ensure that all connections are secure.
4. Scan the Scanner Emulation Host bar code on page 10-6 to enable the Scanner Emulation
host interface.
5. To modify any parameter options, scan the appropriate bar codes in this chapter.
The scanner must be connected to 5 volt decoders. Damage caused
by connecting the scanner to a 12 volt decoder invalidates the
warranty.
