ACAUTION
• Do not overtorque
or cross thread
the spark plugs or the aluminum
threads
of the cylinder head will
be damaged.
• Do not allow
contaminants
to
enter
the
engine
through
the
spark plug holes when the plugs
are removed.
• The standard
spark plug for this
motorcycle
has
been
carefully
selected
to meet the vast major-
ity of all operational
ranges.
If
the
spark
plug color
indicates
that other than a standard
sPilrk
plug
~Q
!lsed, it is best to consult
yq~r Suzuki dealer before select-
ing an alternate
plug
or heat
,f~nge.
The selection
of an im-
proper
spark
plug can lead
to
severe
engine damage.

Remove
the carbon
deposits
peri-
odically
from the spark
plug with a
piece
of hard wire or pin. Readjust
the spark
plug gap to
0.6 - 0.7
mm
(0.024 - 0.028
in) with a spark
plug
gap thickness
gauge.

apply air pressure

element
only. If air pressllre
is applied to the
inside,
dirt will
be
forced into the
pores
of the clellner

5. Reinstall
the
cleaned
element
or new
air cleaner
element
in
reverse
order
of
removal.

sure that the 'element
is securely
in position
and
is
sealing
properly.
Replace
the air
cleaner
element
with a new one
periodically.

Pull out the air cleaner
element.
4. Carefully
use an i3ir hose to blow
the
dust
from
the
air cleaner!
element.
