Air Cleaner - Suzuki RM-Z450 Manual

AIR CLEANER

The air cleaner element must be
kept clean to provide good engine
power and gas mileage. Use the
following procedure to remove the
element and inspect it.
 WARNING
Operating the engine without
the air cleaner element in place
can be hazardous. A flame can
spit back from the engine to
the air intake box without the
air cleaner element to stop it.
Severe engine damage can
also occur if dirt enters the
engine due to running the
engine without the air cleaner
element.
Never run the engine without
the air cleaner element in
place.
Removing the Element
1. Remove the bolts and seat.
2. Remove the wing bolt 1 and
washer 2.
3. Remove the element 3.
NOTICE
Inappropriate air cleaner ele-
ment handling may cause a
tear of the element.
When the element is to be
removed from or attached to
the motorcycle, do it accord-
ing to the arrow mark direction
instruction in the above illus-
tration.
