PARKING FOOT (FIG. J)
Your planer is equipped with a parking foot (13) that
automatically lowers into place when the tool is lifted from
the work surface. When planing, the parking foot raises
as the tool is pushed forward. When the parking foot is
lowered, the planer can set on the work surface without
the blade touching.
Caution! Do not lock the trigger switch on and engage
the parking foot. The vibration of the running motor will
cause the planer to move, possibly falling from the work
piece.
EDGE CHAMFERING (FIG. K)
Your planer has three precision machined chamfering
grooves 1.5mm, 2.0mm and 2.5mm (14). They are located
in the front shoe and are used for planing along a corner of
the material (Fig. K).
a. Adjust to desired depth of cut.
b. Place groove (14) over edge of material.
c. Apply weight to front of shoe so groove is flat on
material edge.
d. Hold tool with both hands keeping pressure on front
handle.
Note: It's a good idea to try a piece of scrap wood
before doing finish work.
DRIVE BELT (FIG. L)
Warning! Turn off and unplug the tool before making
any adjustments or removing or installing accessories.
To replace belt
a. Loosen the three screws shown in Fig. L and remove
the belt cover.
b. Remove old belt.
c. Place new belt over front pulley then rotate belt
clockwise while pushing belt onto back pulley.
d. Attach belt cover and securely tighten screws.

MAINTENANCE

Your tool has been designed to operate over a long period
of time with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous
satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool care and
regular cleaning.
Warning! Before performing any maintenance, switch
off and unplug the tool.
Cleaning
f Turn off and unplug unit before cleaning chip
discharge chute. Clean the chip discharge chute (6)
regularly. Always wear safety glasses.
f Never use solvents or other harsh chemicals for
cleaning the non-metallic parts of the tool. Use only
mild soap and damp cloth to clean the tool. Never let
any liquid get inside the tool; never immerse any part
of the tool into a liquid.
ACCESSORIES
The performance of your tool depends on the accessory
used. STANLEY accessories are engineered to
high quality standards and designed to enhance the
performance of your tool. By using these accessories you
will get the very best from your tool.
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Separate collection. This product must not be
disposed of with normal household waste.
Should you find one day that your STANLEY
product needs replacement, or if it is of no
further use to you, do not dispose of it with
household waste. Make this product available for
separate collection.
Separate collection of used products and
packaging allows materials to be recycled and used
again. Re-use of recycled materials helps prevent
environmental pollution and reduces the demand
for raw materials. Local regulations may provide for
separate collection of electrical products from the
household, at municipal waste sites or by the
retailer when you purchase a new product.
