Formatting a Floppy Disk

WK1 will not read from a Floppy Disk which is not in a recognized format. WK1 WK1 WK1 WK1
Using a disk in a non-compatible format will prompt a message that
requests to abandon the current Floppy Disk and try with a new one.
Two formatting procedures are possible.

FORMAT 720 KB

This procedure formats a 3.5" DD Floppy Disk in MS-DOS/Atari ST formats
(capacity:720 kilobytes).

FORMAT 1,44 MB

This procedure formats a 3.5" HD Floppy Disk for WK1 use with 1,44
Megabytes capacity. Such format is fully compatible with MS-DOS and
allows the exchange of files between instruments of the WK and PK
series and computers (MS-DOS, Windows, OS/2, Macintosh, some Atari
models and Amiga).

THE FORMATTING PROCEDURE

This function is available in the third page of DISK mode. If you are re-
formatting a used disk, remember that all data stored in the disk will be
cancelled.
