Preparing for installation

Leave that area free on new buildings.
Where roofs are already covered,
remove the cover.
Earthing and lightning protection of the solar heating system
Create an electrically conductive con-
nection between the solar circuit pipe-
work and in the lower part of the
building in accordance with VDE [or
local] regulations.

To prevent damage to the ridge cover
and to ensure good ventilation below
the roof, leave enough room towards
the ridge.
Fit a snow grille above the collectors
where there is a larger gap between
the collectors and the roof ridge.
Provide a roof hatch near the collec-
tors for inspection and maintenance.
The connection of the collector sys-
tem to a new or existing lightning pro-
tection system or the provision of
local earthing must only be carried out
by authorised trained personnel, who
must take into account the conditions
applicable on site.
