Setting Up
Your Snow
Thrower
NOTE: All references
in this manual to the
left or right side of the
snow thrower is from
the operating position
only. Exceptions, if any,
will be specified.
NOTE: If the flange
keepers do not easily
click into place, use
the palm of your hand
to apply swift, firm
pressure to the back of
each.
IMPORTANT
This unit is shipped
with the engine full of
oil. After assembly,
refer to the Tecumseh
Engines manual
packed separately with
your snow thrower
for fuel and oil fill-up
details.

IMPORTANT: Two replacement auger shear pins are
included with this manual (or stowed in the plastic handle
panel). Refer to Augers on page 18 for more information
regarding shear pin replacement.
1. Observe the lower area of the snow thrower to be
sure both cables are aligned with roller guides before
pivoting handle upward.
• Pull up and back on upper handle as shown in Figure
1. Align upper handle with the lower handle.
2. Secure the right side of the handle by tightening the
plastic wing knob. Secure the left side of the handle by
tightening the plastic wing knob into the eyebolt. See
Figure 2.
3. Make sure that the flange keepers are opened.
Position the chute assembly (forward-facing) over the
chute base. See Figure 3.
4. Close the flange keepers to secure the chute
assembly to the chute adapter. The keepers will click
into place when properly secure. See Figure 4.
NOTE: If the flange keepers do not easily click into place,
use the palm of your hand to apply swift, firm pressure to
the back of each.
