Central Heating System Pressure
1. The water pressure in the central heating
system is indicated by the pressure gauge.
2. The normal operating pressure is in the range
between 1 and 2·5 bar (Fig. 5).
3. A pressure of 3 bar or greater indicates a fault
(Fig. 6). The safety pressure relief valve will
operate at a pressure of 3 bar. It is important that
your Service Engineer is contacted as soon as
possible.
4. The MINIMUM pressure for correct operation is
1 bar. If the pressure falls below this it may
indicate a leak on the central heating system
(Fig. 7).
5. To re-pressurise the system:
a) Ensure the boiler is switched off.
b) Ensure the system filling loop is connected
to both the system and the cold feed.
c) Open the filling loop tap until the desired
system pressure is indicated on the gauge.
d) Close the filling loop tap and disconnect.
e) If in doubt, consult your Service Engineer.
2.6
Emergency Shutdown
1. Turn off the gas supply at either the boiler or
the gas meter.
2. Turn off the electricity supply at the fused
isolating switch.
2.7
Frost Protection
1. If a frost thermostat has been fitted or the
system frost protection has been enabled, then to
operate correctly and protect your system, the gas
and electricity must be left on and the appliance
set in the winter mode (see section 2.2).
