Powering on a 2350

To power on a 2350 switch:

Plug the power supply into an AC power source.

Plug the power supply into the Power port.
The LED turns green when the 2350 is receiving power.

Connecting to a serial management console

Initial configuration of the WSS requires a connection to the switch's CLI through the serial console port.
Figure 11 shows how to install a serial cable on a switch. The procedure is the same for the 2350, 2360, 2361,
or 2380 switch. Refer to this figure as you perform the procedure. (For cable requirements, see
cable" on page 38.)

To connect a PC to the serial console port:

Insert the serial cable into the PC port as shown in

Insert the other end of the cable into the serial console port on the WSS as shown in

Start a standard VT100 terminal emulation application on the PC, and configure the following
modem settings:
• 9600 bps
• 8 bits
• 1 stop
• No parity
• Hardware flow control off or disabled
