Pipe connections

V Connect pipes as shown in fig. 10. Ensure that all pipe-
work is routed so as to minimise any strain on the boiler
fittings.
The first 600 mm of pipework must be in copper, then
another approved material type can be used.
CAUTION!
Do not use galvanised radiators or pipes.

Gas supply
The gas installation must be installed in accordance with
BS.6891.
CAUTION!
Pipework from the meter to the boiler MUST
be of adequate size, generally Ø22 mm.
The complete installation MUST be tested for gas tight-
ness and purged as described in IGE/UP/1b.

Gas connection
V Connect to gas supply according to relevant stand-
ards.

Hot-water temperature
CAUTION!
DO NOT use galvanised pipes or fittings.
The hot water heat exchanger contains cop-
per and can suffer from electrolytic corro-
sion.
Note
When using plastic pipes, observe the sup-
plier's instructions - especially those referring
to recommended jointing techniques and the
notes relating to the heating system water on
page 3.
