Engine Oil
NOTE:Changethe engineoil after the first 5 hoursof operationand
oncea seasonor every 50 hoursthereafter.
1.
Drainfuelfrom tank by runningengineuntilthe fuel tank is empty.
Be surefuel fill cap is secure.
2.
Placesuitableoil collectioncontainerunderoil drain plug.
3.
Removeoil drain plug.See Figure18.
4.
Tip unitto drain oil intothe container.Usedoil mustbe disposed
of at a propercollectioncenter.
Usedoil is a hazardouswasteproduct.Disposeof usedoil properly.
Donotdiscardwith householdwaste.Checkwith yourlocalauthori-
ties or SearsServiceCenterfor safedisposal/recycling facilities.

Reinstallthe drain plugand tightenit securely.
Refillwith the recommended oil and checkthe oil level.See
Recommended Oil Usagechart.Theengine'soil capacityis 20
ounces.

Reinstallthe oil fillercap/dipsticksecurely.
Thoroughlywashyour handswith soapand water as soonas
possibleafter handling usedoil.

If the engine hasbeen running,the mufflerwill be very hot. Be careful
notto touch the muffler.
NOTE: Checkthe sparkplug oncea seasonor every 25 hoursof
operation.Changethe sparkplug oncea seasonor every 100hours.
Toensureproperengine operation,the sparkplug mustbe properly
gappedand freeof deposits.

Removethe sparkplug bootand usea spark plugwrenchto
removethe plug.See Figure19.
2.
Visuallyinspectthe sparkplug. Discardthe sparkplug if thereis
apparentwear,or if the insulatoris crackedor chipped.Cleanthe
sparkplug with a wire brushif it is to be reused.
