Troubleshooting - Sylvania 6842PE Service Manual

Below are charts for troubleshooting, even under the condition that both the Digital CBA and
the Analog CBA are normal, when there is a malfunction in the plasma display module.
FLOW CHART NO.1
The power cannot be turned on. (SMPS unit)
Is AC120V voltage supplied to Pin(1,3) of CN8001?
Is the fuse (F8001~F8005) normal?
Does the Relay (RLY8001, RLY8002) operate normally?
And do LED8001 and LED8002 light up when operating?
Does LED8002 go out?
Once turn the power off, then remove CN8002, CN8003,
CN8005 and CN8006.
Turn the power on. Check that the specific voltage is
output to the following terminals.
CN8002 5pin +125V~+155V
CN8002 8,9pin +160V~+185V
CN8003 9,10pin +160V~+185V
CN8003 4pin -55V~-80V
CN8005 1,2pin +65V~+80V
CN8006 1,2pin +65V~+80V
Refer to "FLOW CHART NO.3 " No picture on the screen
or is not displayed normally. (SMPS unit is normal)"
FLOW CHART NO.2
The power cannot be turned on. (Video SMPS unit)
Is the fuse (F9001, F9002) normal?
Remove CN8002, CN8003, CN8005 and CN8006,
then turn the power on. Check that the specific
voltage is output to the following terminals.
CN9001 1,2pin +3V~+5V
CN9003 1,2pin +6V~+7V
CN9003 5pin +33V
CN9003 8,9pin +18V~+24V
Refer to "FLOW CHART NO.3 " No picture on the screen
or is not displayed normally. (SMPS unit is normal)"

Check CN8001, cables and fuses on Filter CBA.
Repair them if any malfunction are found.
Replace the SMPS unit.
Replace the SMPS unit.
Once turn the power off, then turn on again after
LED8004 goes out.
Check that 9 Pin of CN8008 is in level "H".

Replace the SMPS unit.
Replace the Video SMPS unit.
