This statement displays data on the screen in a specific format. The f o r m a t specifi-
cation consists of a character or string of characters in quotation marks, and is
specified immediately after the word USING as follows.
(1) F o r m a t specification strings f o r numeric values
(a) #
The n u m b e r sign is used to specify the maximum n u m b e r of digits to be
displayed. If the number of digits in the n u m b e r displayed is smaller than
the n u m b e r of # signs specified in " f o r m a t string", numbers are right-
justified in the field defined by that string.
