2-2 Loading and Cutting Off Media
Never pull the media with excessive force.
Never attempt any operation that pulls the media with excessive force, like the ones shown below. Doing so may
activate a protective feature and result in an error.
Never operate the MANUAL switch for the media take-up and feed systems when the loading lever has been
pulled back.

Feed dancer roller
to feed the media in reverse.
continuously for more than one minute.
Never needlessly touch the dancer rollers.
Sudden movement of the media take-up or feed system may cause injury.
Move the take-up dancer roller forward and
backward to stretch the media taut.
If the media is not stretched taut, it may become
crooked or wrinkle.
Go around to the back of the printer and make
sure the feed dancer roller is level.
If it is at a large slant, the media may become crooked
or wrinkle.
