C ataly tic enam el su r fac es
The back panel is coated w ith dark
grey cataly tic enamel.
S oiling from oil and fat is burnt off these
surfaces w hen very high temperatures
are used in the oven. The higher the
temperature, the more effective the
process.
The cataly tic coating becomes
ineffective through using
– abrasive cleaning agents,
– hard brushes or abrasive
sponges,
– oven spray s.
R emove the cataly tic back panel
from the oven before cleaning the
P erfectC lean oven surfaces w ith
oven spray .
Note that deposits of sp ic es, sy r u p s
and sim ilar su b stanc es are not
removed from the cataly tic coating by
this process. These should be removed
by hand w hilst still fresh, using a mild
solution of hot w ater and w ashing-up
liq uid applied w ith a soft sponge or
brush. R emove the panels from the
oven to do this.
S oiling caused by o il and g r ease
sp lash es are removed from cataly tic
coated surfaces w hen the oven is
heated to a high temperature. To do
this:
^ Take all accessories out of the oven.
^ W ipe large deposits of soiling from
the oven interior and the inside of the
door before starting the cleaning
process to avoid them baking onto
P erfectC lean surfaces and becoming
impossible to remove.

^ S et the highest temperature setting.
R un the oven for approx . 1 hour. The
length of time w ill depend on the level
of soiling.
The timer can also be used to set the
finish time. S ee "E ntering a cooking
duration".
If the cataly tic coated panels are
very heavily soiled w ith oil and
grease, a film w ill develop on the
oven surface during the cleaning
process w hich can be w iped off w ith
w arm w ater and a little w ashing-up
liq uid once cool.
^ F inally , clean the P erfectC lean
surfaces and the inside of the door.
A ny remaining soiling w ill gradually
disappear w ith each subseq uent use of
the oven at high temperatures.
S hould the cataly tic coating on the
back panel become ineffective
through improper use or heavy
soiling, a replacement can be
obtained from y our Miele C hartered
A gent or the Miele S pare P arts
D epartment.
