Replacing the System Board
1.
Insert the system board at an an le into the computer base.
2.
Connect the consumer IR cable to the connectors on the system board and
the consumer IR board.
3.
Connect the left speaker li ht cable to the system board connector.
4.
Replace the ive screws that secure the system board to the computer base.
5.
Replace the raphics card blank, if applicable (see "Replacin the Graphics
Card Blank" on pa e 88).
6.
Connect the raphics card fan(s) cable to the system board connector (see
"Replacin the Graphics Card Fan(s)" on pa e 85).
7.
Replace the raphics card(s) (see "Replacin the Graphics Card(s)" on
pa e 81).
8.
Replace the processor heat sink (see "Replacin the Processor Heat Sink" on
pa e 77).
9.
Replace the Mini-Card(s) (see "Replacin the Mini-Card(s)" on pa e
10.
Replace the optical drive (see "Replacin the Optical Drive" on pa e
11.
Replace the input/output board (see "Replacin the Input/Output Board" on
pa e 64).
12.
Replace the ma nesium cover (see "Replacin the Ma nesium Cover" on
pa e 51).

Replace the left and ri ht brackets (see "Replacin the Brackets" on pa e

Replace the memory module(s) (see "Replacin the Memory Module(s)" on

Connect the coin-cell battery cable to the system board connector (see
"Replacin the Coin-Cell Battery" on pa e 25).

Connect the processor thermal fan cable to the system board connector
(see "Replacin the Processor hermal Fan" on pa e 22).

Replace the hard drive(s) (see "Replacin the Hard Drive(s)" on pa e

Replace the compartment door (see "Replacin the Compartment Door" on
pa e 14).

Replace the battery pack (see "Replacin the Battery Pack" on pa e
CAUTION: Before turning on the computer, replace all screws and ensure
that no stray screws remain inside the computer. Failure to do so may
result in damage to the computer.
